From what I gather there's no such thing as a non dps character in this game. Some characters may focus more or less on it, but every character is meant to spend some time on screen dealing damage or doing something while building concerto. In the case of Taoqi, she seems like a Beidou/Noelle hybrid in design.

Yeah for the most part. Some characters do work better together than others depending on their intro/outro skills and buffs they give. Like yinlin buffs lightning damage so she'll pair better with a lightning dps. But if you know how to dodge and parry you could clear a lot of the content with just one character if you wanted too.

Out of all of those, only fedora man looks outright bad. Calcharo, Childe/Gambit man, Jiyan and Aalto all look really cool. The furry kid looks about as cool as a furry shota can (still a furry shota but I can at least see the appeal of the character instead of immediate disgust like I have for most furrybait characters). not really. I guess there's a chance she could be. Her kit does mention some of her abilities sucking in opponents, but from what I hear of people who played the betas she's not really a grouper. The only character I've heard mentioned as a CC'er like that is Yangyang weirdly enough. There's still too much unknown though. A lot of the complaints I've heardf about Jianxin is that although she can deal good damage she's too slow or lacks mobility while doing damage, but I've seen stuff like in this video >>478070263
that some moves like Encore's "I'm going crazy" attack SEEM to have "off-field" properties where it looks like you can swap to another character while they are doing the move and they remain on-field. I have no idea how this works, but I can imagine Jianxin could have stuff like that on her slower moves.

Basically, no one knows for sure especially since the devs have been pretty flexible with changing and tuning things so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I played all soulslikes and those are not a good combat.
Its just dodge-attack-dodge or "window of opportunity" style gameplay.
Good combat is where, if you're good enough with the inputs, you can destroy enemy's action economy.
For example you can parry/stunlock literally any enemy and boss in DMC5. This is a good combat.
Bayonetta(PGR,HI3,ZZZ) dodge-into-bullet_time is trash and gets old quick but its still far better than soulslikes.

No one knows how exaactly it'll perform as, but the attempt is to make a genshin clone with improvements to the main complaints players have had about Genshin for a long time, namely a better combat system and an actual endgame and also fixing a ton of QoL stuff Hoyo never addressed (infinite stamina for running out of combat, faster wall climbing, stuff like that). They are also trying to be more generous than Hoyo, and also trying to solve some undiagnosed issues like elemental reactions while cool in concept, severely limiting your team comp variety potential. Then there's the different aesthetic the game is going for, which seems a bit darker/more mature. Unclear how any of this will turn out in the end. There's a lot to be excited about on paper if you liked Genshin to begin with but left wanting a bit more, but we'll just have to wait and see if it actually delivers or fumbles the whole thing.

I personally prefer WUWAs honestly. HSR has the same issues as GI for me; they go way too crazy with the designs and they end up looking way too kitsch-y for my taste. GI started off really well and every expansion the designs have been getting more and more busy and filled with unnecessary flair that makes characters look like clowns. I think WUWA having a more "realistic" artstyle forces them to be a bit more grounded, and I personally prefer those looks. That being said, it's perfectly possible for them to end up doing the same over time.

I watched some gameplay and honestly the music in the overworld is kinda mid.

It's not 'bad' but I forgot immediately after I close the video. Not memorable.

Also outside the city and a few locations it seems the whole map is just 1 music? I little disappointed if true.

I don't play genshin anymore but I still remember the theme of dawn winery as it just sound very nice.

Didn't it go on the entire CBT, hours upon hours into the game and they were still treating MC like dirt? Snowbreak's CBT had the same issue, where instead of the MC slowly taking his role and earning people's respect, the MC was outright replaced by Chapter 7 as main character and the most popular girl in the game and others were closer to the NPC who hijacked the game than the MC.
There's a threshold between "main character endures hardship and ears respect" and "FUCK YOU PLAYER CHARACTER I HOPE YOU SUFFER AND DIE"
Not to mention Chapter 7 is literally like 70% way into the original planned story for Snowbreak. If by 70% into the original plot of the game, the MC is still being treated the same way, it's no longer "earning" anything, it's just abuse.
Supposedly both stories had the same author too.
